Working on this project was an absolute blast! It marked my first foray into directing for a major player in the industry. The opportunity came knocking when Princess approached me one day. She explained that T, the main director, would be in front of the camera quite a bit and they needed a dependable assistant director. I jumped at the chance without hesitation.
T and I instantly hit it off, bonding over our shared love for 90s-style hip-hop. This connection gave me the creative freedom to bring some exciting elements to the project, like the MTV-style intro and outro that many of us still fondly remember.
When I look back, it’s hard to believe that we pulled off all of this in just 18 hours! Our video garnered attention for its unique style and flawless execution, even earning a spot in prestigious publications like Rolling Stone.
